Finding the right frame is about more than choosing a style. The correct fit should feel secure, balanced and comfortable without creating pressure around your temples, nose or ears.

All eyewear measurements are shown in millimetres (mm).

Understanding Frame Measurements

You may find a sequence similar to this printed inside the temple of a pair of glasses:

52 □ 18 – 145

These numbers represent:

• 52 mm — Lens width: the horizontal width of one lens.

• 18 mm — Bridge width: the distance between the two lenses.

• 145 mm — Temple length: the length of the arm from the hinge to the tip.

Additional measurements may include:

• Total frame width: the complete width across the front of the frame.

• Lens height: the vertical height of the lens.

• Frame depth: the overall height of the front profile.

The lens width alone does not represent the total width of the frame.

How to Measure Your Current Eyewear

The most reliable way to choose a new frame is to compare it with a pair that already fits you comfortably.

1. Measure the Total Frame Width

Place the eyewear on a flat surface and measure straight across the front, from the outermost point on one side to the outermost point on the other.

2. Measure the Lens Width

Measure the widest horizontal point of one lens. Do not include the frame surrounding the lens.

3. Measure the Bridge

Measure the shortest distance between the two lenses.

4. Measure the Temple Length

Measure from the hinge to the end of the temple arm. Follow the complete length of the arm, including the section that curves behind the ear.

VELORA frames may be described using the following fit profiles:

Narrow Fit

Designed for smaller or slimmer face profiles.

A narrow frame should sit securely without extending significantly beyond the sides of the face.

Regular Fit

Designed for balanced, everyday proportions and suitable for many face profiles.

A regular frame should align comfortably with the temples without feeling tight or loose.

Wide Fit

Designed for broader face profiles or customers who prefer additional width and coverage.

Wide frames provide more space around the temples and often create a stronger visual presence.

Oversized Fit

Oversized frames are intentionally designed with a larger silhouette and increased lens coverage.

They may extend beyond the natural width of the face as part of the intended style.

Lens Coverage

Lens coverage describes how much of the area around your eyes is covered by the frame.

Low Coverage

Smaller lenses with a lighter and more compact appearance.

Medium Coverage

Balanced proportions suitable for everyday wear.

High Coverage

Larger lenses designed to provide a stronger silhouette and more coverage around the eyes.

Lens coverage does not necessarily determine the overall frame width. A frame may have high lens coverage while still offering a regular fit.

How a Frame Should Fit

A well-fitting frame should:

• Sit comfortably and securely on the bridge of your nose.

• Remain in place without frequently sliding down.

• Feel balanced without creating pressure behind your ears.

• Sit evenly without appearing tilted.

• Allow the temples to rest naturally against the sides of your head.

• Keep your eyes positioned comfortably within the lenses.

Signs That a Frame May Be Too Narrow

• Pressure around the temples or behind the ears.

• Temple arms visibly spreading outwards.

• The frame sitting too high or feeling restrictive.

• Discomfort after short periods of wear.

Signs That a Frame May Be Too Wide

• The frame frequently sliding down.

• Large gaps between the temples and the sides of your head.

• The frame moving when you look down.

• The front extending much further than intended beyond your face.

Choosing Between Two Sizes

If you are deciding between two frames:

• Choose the narrower fit if you prefer a secure and structured feel.

• Choose the wider fit if you prefer more room around the temples.

• Choose higher lens coverage if you want a bolder or more protective silhouette.

• Compare the total frame width with eyewear that already fits you well.
